Jeff Smith for Missouri

Given the recent scandals in Washington and several state houses involving lobbyists and special interests exercising excessive influence over legislators, the issue of campaign finance reform is as important as ever. According to the Post-Dispatch the vast majority of states have stricter regulations on lobbying and campaign finance than the federal government, with Missouri’s regulations ranked near the middle of the 50 states. We can do better.

Finally got a copy of Jeff Smith’s latest campaign report for the 4th District, which shows him banking $94,726.

That puts Smith well in the lead in the four-person Democrat contest for the party’s nomination next August.
