Dear Friend,
I hope this note finds you well. I wanted to see if you might be interested in joining me at two upcoming events.
First, this upcoming Saturday (October 15th), The National Conference for Community and Justice of Metropolitan St. Louis will sponsor the “Walk As One” at Tower Grove Park (Stone Pavilion west of Tennis Courts) starting at 10 a.m. The NCCJSTL is an organization dedicated to fighting bigotry and racism through advocacy, conflict resolution and education. Specifically, the “Walk As One” will support the Anytown Youth Leadership Institute; Anytown is a youth leadership development institute focusing on social justice. After the eight-day residential program, high school students who graduate are in the forefront of the struggle for equity and social justice throughout the nation and especially in St. Louis.
Our board at NCCJSTL is trying to raise both money and awareness, so you can come and contribute to the cause or you can just come join us for a stroll on what should be a beautiful autumn morning. If you can join me, please reply to this email and let me know.
Second, I’ll be canvassing for Jane Bogetto, the Democratic candidate for State House in the 94th district, on Saturday, October 29. Jane, the former President of the Kirkwood School Board, has a long record of community activism. She will make education and health care – particularly the restoration of recent Medicaid cuts – two of her main priorities. You may learn more about Jane at www.janebogetto.com.
We will meet at 9:30am at Jane’s home at 417 Gill Ave. Kirkwood 63122. If you can join me, please contact Michael Cantone at Missouri Pro-Vote, who is the point person for these canvasses, at macc1022@hotmail.com or by phone at 804-543-4976© or 314-531-2288 (w).
I hope to see many of you at one or both of these events!
Best,
Jeff
